Two Years of Jazz Solidarity Network: A Brief Overview

The most important actions of the Jazz Solidarity Network during its first two years of operation are as follows:

 

NEW TOOLS & INSTITUTIONS

 

  • 280+ artists as members — over 80% of the Greek jazz scene.
  • Website, social media, newsletter.
  • Digital platform “The Greek Jazz Book” featuring member compositions, funded by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.
  • Crowdfunding platform for member use.
  • E-shop featuring members’ works.
  • Spotify playlist with members’ music.
  • Technical equipment available for organising medium-scale events in indoor and outdoor venues.

 

FUNDING

 

  • 170+ artists received material support from our activities.
  • Submission of proposals to public and private funding programmes (Ministry of Culture, Green Fund, OPANDA, Dimitria Festival, LIVEMX, Creative Europe, etc.).
  • Support for 6 album productions (Haris Lambrakis Quartet, Yiannis Papanastasiou Quartet, BYS Trio, Leoforio, K. Mitropoulos–N. Sidirokastritis, Nicky Kokkoli).
  • Export of dozens of CDs to Japan.
  • Jazz Solidarity Fund: support for the Leoforio tour in Istanbul and Kostas Patsiotis’ tour in Indonesia.

 

EVENTS

 

  • “Sustainability in the Cultural Sector” Forum on 30/5/2024 at Technopolis, funded by the Green Fund.
  • 18 jazz nights (Sardanapalos, Spiti, Jazzet, Proka — with Ioannina events upcoming).
  • 5 Climate Festivals (Agios Dimitrios, Vari, Heraklion Attica, Heraklion Crete, Karpenisi), funded by the Green Fund.
  • Founding of an interactive youth jazz orchestra (under construction).
  • Jazz festivals (Playground 2023, Kolonos 2024, Aegina 2025, Dionysos 2025).
  • 4 concerts in Seville at Assejazz jazz club (Kostas Patsiotis Quartet, Nassia Gofa and the Jazz Tales, Leoforio, Spiral Trio), funded by LIVEMX.
  • Contribution to the Ministry of Culture’s booth and to Andreas Polyzogopoulos Trio’s showcase at Jazzahead 2025.
  • 2 Improvisation Flows (13/2, 30/4).
