The Singularity Project is a modern jazz quintet hosted by pianist and composer Vagelis Stefanopoulos and is made up of a soulful team of musicians from Greece, Nigeria, Cuba and the USA.
Inspired by jazz of both northern and southern Europe, African, and other contemporary styles of music, Singularity enlists a robust variety of poly-rhythms and harmonies while remaining lyrical, punchy and obsessively in the groove.
The group’s first demo in 2013 caught the attention of artistic directors and radio producers in Greece which led in the project representing Greece in the Athens International Jazz Festival. Since then they played numerous clubs and festivals in Greece.
In 2016 upon the release of their first album the project was voted in the top 3 Greek Jazz albums of the year by the acclaimed international critics of Jazz online.
In 2017 the band went on tour in California, USA playing among other venues the main stage of Jazz In The Pines festival opening for the great Russel Malone.
In spring 2018 Singularity Project is on tour in central and Northern Europe.
